Science provides a comprehensive education in the field of diagnostics, therapy and prevention of communicable and non-communicable diseases of animals and basic knowledge of hygiene of food of animal origin. The study is six years (12 semesters). The total volume of the course includes lectures and practical training, exercises, training, internships at clinics. After the end of the semester followed by an examination period during which students take exams of disciplines whose teaching has ended. During the entire study, the student performs few tests. The study is completed advanced state exam, which consists of two mandatory sub-state rigorous exams (food hygiene and animal and legislation) and another 3-5 of optional sub-state rigorous exams (diseases of dogs and cats, the disease of ruminants, the disease equine disease pigs, poultry diseases, diseases of reptiles, birds and small mammals, clinical pathology, professional advocacy work). Successful graduates will be awarded the title "Doctor of Veterinary Medicine" (MVDr.).

Graduates of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine gain broad medical education veterinary direction, thanks to which they have the option to use primarily as a private veterinarian, employees of the State Veterinary Administration, but also as experts in consulting and maintenance of livestock services in health and other diagnostic or research institutes, agricultural and breeding organizations, pharmaceutical companies, insurance companies, enterprises of the food industry, government, etc. They can also work in a number of organizations from the health, epidemiology, inspection, control, business, management, environmental protection, hygiene etc., secondary schools and universities and in other areas.
The standard Master study programme in Pharmacy takes five years and is based on a credit system. The Faculty is a member of the Association of European Faculties of Pharmacy and its graduates meet all the requirements for the profession as defined by the European Union. In the initial two years students revise and broaden their knowledge of elementary natural and medical subjects to the level required for understanding specific subjects from the field of Pharmacy. Students attend lectures and seminars and take part in practical pharmacy placements. During the following years of study they work on their thesis. The programme is concluded by defending the thesis and taking the final state examination. Then the students are awarded the Master degree (abbreviated Mgr.). The study programme is compliant with EU directive 2005/36/EC.
Graduates awarded the Master degree can later sit for a thorough state exam including an advanced thesis defence. After passing they are awarded the "Doctor of Pharmacy" degree (abbreviated PharmDr.).
Graduates can apply for postgraduate study programmes in five accredited branches of Pharmacy. After defending their dissertation and passing the final state examination they are awarded the Ph.D. degree.
The Faculty closely cooperates with industry and runs a Faculty Pharmacy on the premises. It cooperates with private and public pharmacies in the country where students conduct their placements and also with the Chamber of Pharmacists and the Association of Pharmacy owners.
